Who is running this course?
This course is offered by Launch Industries, a small business consulting firm with thousands of hours of experience consulting clients in the growing cannabis industry, especially in Washington and California! Some cannabis entrepreneurs are taking this course sponsored by programs such as the City of Sacramento's Office of Cannabis Management, and others may be taking this course independent of a government offering.
If I want to open a cannabis business but I am NOT in Sacramento, CA, should I still take this course?
Absolutely! If you have landed on this course program independently, you are still welcome to join the program and will get a LOT out of it. Some of the course material is tailored to Sacramento (for example, when we talk about licensing), however 90% of the content is applicable to starting a cannabis businesses no matter where you are located in the United States.
When did the program begin?
The course content became available on October 30, 2025. Students can now access all the details, including how to access the live sessions, materials, and resources a few days before the course starts.

About the Class Format
This course is broken up into six modules, each which runs for 4 weeks. Each week's class is offered LIVE, virtually on Zoom, with an instructor at 12:00 PM on Thursdays. This format is set as a "Launch & Learn" so you can learn on your lunch break. Then, you can receive deeper content within this Teachable platform to give into the topic more in depth. If you miss a live class, you can watch the session from inside this Teachable platform. You can also interact with course instructors via Teachable as well.
There is a two week break between modules to allow you time to digest what you have learned and take a learning break.
What should I do before starting the class?
Just three things!
- Head over to the Community area and introduce yourself.
- Download the Teachable app to your phone (optional)
- You should receive calendar links for live sessions. Please take a look and accept. Note: we send these out weekly by Fridays, so if you register earlier in the week, you may not see them for a few days.
